Predictive control of temperature in hydroponic systems
Abstract
Hydroponic cultivation requires precise control of environmental factors to optimize plant growth and resource efficiency. Among these factors, temperature plays a crucial role in plant metabolism, nutrient absorption,
and overall system stability. This work presents the design and experimental evaluation of an automatic temperature regulation system for hydroponic applications. Two control strategies are implemented and compared: a ProportionalIntegral (PI) controller and a predictive control approach. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of both methods in maintaining the desired temperature despite disturbances, with improved performance observed using predictive control.
